Deciding if Lines Coincide, Are Skew, Are Parallel or Intersect in 3D. Here I describe two lines in 3space using parametric equations. We have to decide if they coincide, are parallel, are skew or if they intersect in exactly one point.
Worked example by David Butler. Features a list of sets of vectors, and deciding whether each of them is a subspace or not, using facts and theorems (as opposed to proving they are subspaces).
Example 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lASfXBvJeaM In this video, we decide if we have a vector space or not.
Before Tim Peake went to the ISS, we asked him to flip a coin to decide which colour packet would contain the space seeds - red or blue? Now the answer is revealed! The seeds were sent to space as part of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening and UK Space Agency project, Rocket Science.

There is still very little that we actually understand about the vast universe that we live in. However, what we do know is that space is very clearly trying its best to kill us all. From deadly radiation to exploding super-stars, the galaxy is dangerous enough to make even the bravest (or craziest) astronauts think twice before deciding to exit our nice, protective atmosphere. Still, the human race is determined to go out and explore the cosmos, so just to make sure we know exactly what we're getting into, here are 25 Space Facts That Will Both Terrify And Ama...
Who really was at fault? The Space Shuttle Challenger disaster occurred on January 28, 1986, when the NASA Space Shuttle orbiter Challenger (OV-099) (mission STS-51-L) broke apart 73 seconds into its flight, leading to the deaths of its seven crew members, which included five NASA astronauts and two Payload Specialists. The spacecraft disintegrated over the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 11:39 EST (16:39 UTC). Disintegration of the vehicle began after an O-ring seal in its right solid rocket booster (SRB) failed at liftoff. The O-ring was not designed to fly under unusually cold conditions as in this launch. Its failure caused a breach in the SRB joint it sealed, allowing pressurised burning gas from within the solid rocket motor to reach the outside and impi...

16th April, 2014 Morning Satsang of Paramahamsa Nithyananda Achieving the space of Advaita Satsang Notes: • Life is not difficult , but you have to do it. • Mahadeva is God of EVERYTHING • GURU is the GOD of Making YOU DECIDE. ÿ Making you decide, even Mahadev can never do. ÿ That is why even He has to assume the form of Guru to teach Science of Enlightenment , ÿ But , HE cannot command you , HE can only remind. • It is a STRAIGHTFORWARD DECISION. • You are the only GOD of DECISION. • Even Mahadev in the form of Guru can only recommend, if you decide to cheat Guru , then no one can do anything. • No one has put you in suffering, no one is even interested in torturing you , but you go on abusing Guru who came to help to you get rid of the wrong decision. • Help...
In today's (26th April, 2014) morning Satsang, Paramahamsa Nithyananda expanded on Perpetual Completion. He told us to decide and declare we are in a state of Perpetual Completion. He defined perpetual completion as having the understanding that completion is easy and you opted for it. Just by remembrance liberation is there. Our teamily can help us remember for the first few days ; then after that Self Remembrance will happen. Evacuate Earth The end of the world doesn't have to mean the end of mankind. CGI and interviews with experts explore how we could leave the Earth. In a doomsday scenario, the race is on to escape annihilation. If we had 75 years warning, would humankind be capable of evacuating the planet? This programme examines how you could flee your home habitat: from building a 25km-long spaceship capable of travelling trillions of kilometres to deciding which unlucky souls get left behind. IQC Faculty member Ben Reichardt lectures on quantum algorithms for deciding st-connectivity during the "Recent Progress in Quantum Algorithms" conference. The event was hosted by The Institute for Quantum Computing, and The Perimeter Institute and was held in Waterloo, Ontario, April 11-13th, 2012. Abstract: We give an O(log n) space, query-optimal quantum algorithm for deciding whether two vertices in a graph are connected, given query access to the adjacency matrix. This is an exponential improvement in the space complexity over previous results, and the time and query complexity are also improved under promises that arise in several applications. Although designed using span programs, the algorithm can also naturally be expressed in terms of a reflection about the set of balanced s...
“Location, location, location" - chances are you have heard this more than a few times. When business owners are deciding whether to buy a “perfect” space for their small business, it is important to understand the potential risks and values. The last thing a small business owner wants is to deal with a costly real estate mistake. The decision ultimately comes down to the economics. This webinar is presented by Catherine Terrizzi, Certified Business Advisor from our Mid-Hudson SBDC, and licensed real estate broker.
